Each gardener has his own secret of strong tomato seedlings, and caring for them begins immediately after the appearance of the first sprouts. Regarding the first feeding of seedlings, there are two points of view: some prefer to wait with the pick, while others believe that early feeding contributes to the rapid strengthening and growth of seedlings.

I belong to the latter group, as I have tried various types of fertilizing on young plants and, as a rule, have achieved excellent results. The optimal period for the first feeding of tomatoes is the period between the 4th and 7th day of life, when the seedlings are actively laying the foundation for the future root system.
For successful feeding, it is important to follow two rules:
- Use only diluted and weak fertilizers.
- Water carefully so as not to damage thin sprouts.
Of the many fertilizers I tried, the infusion made from natural ingredients showed the greatest effect. You need 1 liter of water, adding the following components for the infusion. The first component is banana peel, which is rich in potassium and contains nitrogen, iron, magnesium and vitamins, which is ideal for the growth of tomatoes. Use the peel of half a banana.

The next ingredient is onion skins, which are known for their nutritional properties and ability to protect seedlings from pathogens through flavonoids, rutin and quercetin. The skins of one medium-sized onion are enough.

The mixture is infused in a warm place for two days, after which it is filtered and 1 drop of iodine is added. The resulting infusion is poorly concentrated and does not require dilution. Each plant is watered with a teaspoon of this remedy.
